The participants discussed key topics surrounding the collaboration among civil society members from BRICS nations. This included deliberations on the goals, objectives, and operational frameworks of the non-profit sector within this track as part of Russia's chairmanship in 2024 and preparations for the upcoming BRICS Civil Forum, which is slated to take place on July 3–4 in Moscow.

Other topics of discussion included:

  • Civil track action plan for 2024
  • Thematic focus areas for working groups of the BRICS Civil Forum

Preparations for the BRICS Civil Forum will involve a series of meetings and round table discussions in a hybrid format that will bring together Russian and international civil society representatives.

The Forum will culminate in drafting an Address to the Summit of the Future, held under the auspices of the UN General Assembly, titled "Right for Development: Equality, Equity and Justice". Additionally, consolidated proposals from civil society members will be prepared for the leaders of the BRICS countries in line with the official agenda of Russia's chairmanship.
