Registration for participation in the BRICS Civil Forum is now open

The IX BRICS Civil Forum will take place on July 3-4 in Moscow, with the official Calendar of events of the Russian Federation’s BRICS Chairship in 2024. Since January 1, Russia has assumed BRICS Chairship, held under the motto: “Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security”. One of the three key pillars, which are identified as priorities of the Russian Chairship, is cultural and humanitarian ties.

The BRICS Civil Forum is a discussion and presentation platform for the civil society of the member countries and invited nations, initiated by Russia in 2015.

At the BRICS Civil forum, the civil community will elaborate proposals to enhance dialogue in such fields as Equitable Development Goals, Education and Human Development, Sovereign Economic and Financial Development, New Technologies Ethics, Public Health and Human Well-being, Environment, Energy Transition and Social Fairness among others.

In preparation for the Civil Forum, nine working groups have been established to develop proposals for the BRICS Summit in Kazan. Additionally, a philosophical essay contest was held, co-organized by the BRICS Expert Council and TASS. As a result, the three winners of the essay contest will have the opportunity to attend the BRICS Civil Forum in person.

The outcome of the forum is expected to be position papers from civil society to the leaders of the BRICS member states.

The BRICS Civil forum is organized by the national coordinator of the BRICS expert and civil track: the BRICS Expert Council – Russia, established at HSE University in implementation of the Russian Government's mandate at the initiative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance.

Applications for participation in the IX BRICS Civil Forum can be submitted until June 20th
